Fueled by Energy, Enabled by Muscles
David Donaldson, Juice Inc.

Humans are hardwired with a built-in bounce back mechanism.  In today’s VUCA world, we not only need to bounce back, we need to grow and evolve, to become disruption ready.

We all have a set of resilience muscles and we all use them.  Based on our life experience we have all developed them differently, much the way a weightlifter develops their muscles to be a specialist, and a triathlete develops their muscles to be effective in a greater range of endeavours, we too can develop our resilience muscles to either be more of a specialist or more of a balanced athlete; able to tackle a wide range of challenges.  This explains why sometimes you are a rock star and sometimes you struggle when facing disruption.  This session will introduce you to the 7 resilience muscles model and discusses how we respond in times of disruption.  Resilience can be cultivated for a more effective response during times of disruption.

Five Things from Agile That Always Make Sense for Great Teamwork
Mike Edwards, Leading for Change

Whether or not you believe in Agile, much of what you’ll find in Agile is simply about helping teams be great.  Regardless of your working context, why not use the pieces that can help your team be better? I will share the five Agile things that top my list, including a quick story of the impact each can have.

The Digital Enterprise: PMs Have a Role to Play
Sasha Gruetzmacher-Einwechter, Sun Life Financial

The Digital Enterprise at Sun Life is about transforming how we work.  One key cornerstone of this transformation is to bring the business and IT teams together, closer than ever before, to deliver exceptional, digital experiences and Client results.  This same transformation is occurring across the insurance and other industries.  Project Managers have an exciting opportunity to evolve their practice and significantly contribute to this transformation.

The Strategic Mindset – For Your Organization, Your Career and Your Life
David Barrett, Solutions Network Ltd. / ProjectTalks

Strategic planning is now a part of the PMI’s Talent Triangle – now identified as a critical component to our current and future roles.   However, reading and hearing is one thing but how many of us are in a position to practice strategic planning and execution?  ALL OF US.

This session will show us how strategic planning is a key to our success at work but, as well, to our careers and our lives.   We will learn how to create a solid plan for any of the three legs and we will leave with the start to our own Professional Strategic Plans.
