Lessons Learned from 42 years of Project Work
Ian Frazer

After some 2,350 projects to date, I have learned many, many “little lessons” which I won’t bring up here, and a few “big ones” that I will.  The little lessons typically apply to a variety of specific situations and are part of that exciting work life that you get to experience from time to time.  The big ones are ones to learn now, so that you can avoid or mitigate them before they happen to you. Or if them already have, try to avoid again in the future.  Yes, there will be embarrassment, there will be clarity, and there will be some surprise, and some “oh really?” moments.

Step Up Project Managers!  What Else Do You Have?
David Barrett

It is not 1995 anymore!  Nor it is 2010.  Our customers and stakeholders are looking for more from us there days.  And we need to offer more if we want to get that next gig and even, in some cases, to keep our jobs.  It is time to lay to rest the tick box project manager and welcome the new breed of PMs who will be running our projects tomorrow.  Are you in?

Deyanira Mendoza Dominguez, P.Eng., PMP
Deyanira Mendoza Dominguez is an extremely inspiring woman who constantly makes the difference in people’s lives. She was born in Mexico and legally immigrated to Canada as a young adult with her own limited resources and a vast toolbox of skills that her mother helped develop since she was little. In Canada, she grew personally and professionally, never having felt so empowered; she truly learned to love her new country and feels extremely proud of being a Canadian. Back in 2010 she left everything she had and embarked on a 26 month journey on her motorcycle through the Americas and after 73,000kms she found the little girl that was within herself, the one without fear.

Currently Deyanira exercises her Project Management career in Engineering and Business Development primarily, she travels to countries like Mexico and Finland to support business in developing Project Management frameworks.
